Residential Sales Representative Location: In-Person Type: Full-time Pay: Commission, $60,000 to +$150,000 per year About Us Abbey Fence & Deck Co., a family-owned company with over 70 years of experience in the Baltimore metropolitan area, has established itself as a regional leader in fencing and deck construction services. With a reputation for quality craftsmanship, community engagement, and customer satisfaction, we pride ourselves in our ability to add distinction, privacy, and security to homes, businesses, government, and industrial sites across Maryland. Abbey Fence & Deck operates one of the region’s largest facilities and maintains a strong reputation for quality work and professional service. Employees join a team that values hands-on expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to helping customers enhance their spaces with durable, well-built structures. The Opportunity The Sales Representative plays a critical role in our residential growth, serving as the primary face of the company for homeowners. Unlike traditional sales roles, you are not evaluated on cold-calling or finding your own leads; instead, you will focus on executing high-quality estimate appointments and owning the customer relationship from the initial visit to the start of installation. We are looking for someone who is coachable, motivated, communicative, and committed to ensuring every customer project is a home run. Responsibilities • Lead Execution: Attend scheduled residential estimate appointments to meet with homeowners and assess project needs. • Customer Education: Guide customers through the fence and deck installation process, answering technical questions and helping them choose the best solutions for their property. • Accurate Pricing: Calculate project costs accurately using the mandatory company pricing application. • Detailed Documentation: Create thorough job records, including precise material orders and project specifications, to ensure the installation team is set up for success. • Relationship Management: Own the customer relationship throughout the sales process, providing professional service and timely follow-up. • Collaboration: Partner with the production and warehouse teams to ensure a seamless transition from the signed contract to the physical build. Preferred Qualifications We are more interested in your character, work ethic, communication skills, and potential than whether you have sold fences before. • Highly coachable and open to learning a proven sales process • Previous sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, or other customer-facing experience • Experience working in a performance-driven or commission-based environment • Comfortable talking with new people and building rapport quickly • Competitive, ambitious, and motivated by earning potential • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills • Comfortable working with numbers, measurements, pricing, and basic math • Comfortable learning and using technology, CRM systems, and sales tools • Strong follow-through and responsiveness • Able to work independently while staying accountable to goals and performance standards • Comfortable driving throughout the Baltimore area and spending significant time in the field Compensation & Benefits Abbey offers a market-competitive commission structure and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals. We offer industry-leading compensation and benefits plus additional incentives that are designed to meet your needs and those of your family so you can get the most out of your career and your life. The candidate will become eligible for participation in our benefits program after a 90-day probationary period. Abbey Fence & Deck Co. provides equal employment opportunities in all aspects of employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, pregnancy, age, disability, orientation or veteran status. Benefits: • Health insurance • 401(k) • Paid training
